Terms of Service

Last updated 25 July 2026

1. Introduction

Crayonie ("Crayonie", "we", "us", "our") is operated by a sole trader established in Portugal. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Crayonie website and application (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a school or other organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on that organisation's behalf, and "you" refers to both you and that organisation.

2. The service

Crayonie helps schoolteachers plan lessons. A teacher enters a topic, grade level, subject and curriculum, and Crayonie uses artificial intelligence to generate a "pack" of teaching materials, which may include a lesson plan, a worksheet, a quiz with an answer key, homework, presentation slides, and a summary for parents. Teachers can organise students into classes, assign packs to those classes, and review student quiz results. Parents can link to a child's account to see relevant summaries.

We may add, change, or remove features of the Service at any time, including the specific outputs included in a pack.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • Teacher accounts may only be created by individuals who are at least 18 years old.
  • Student accounts are not self-registered. A student may only access the Service after being enrolled by a teacher using a class code, or by a parent or guardian setting up access on the student's behalf.
  • Parent accounts are linked to a specific child by the teacher or through a verified invitation.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@crayonie.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

4. AI-generated content — accuracy disclaimer

Packs, and every document within them, are generated by artificial intelligence. They are a starting point for your lesson planning, not a finished, verified product. AI-generated content can be incomplete, out of date, factually incorrect, misaligned with your specific curriculum or grade standards, or otherwise unsuitable for use without changes. Crayonie does not guarantee that any generated content is accurate, complete, or curriculum-compliant.

A qualified teacher must review and, where necessary, correct any AI-generated content before it is used in a classroom, assigned to students, or used for grading or assessment. You are responsible for exercising professional judgment before relying on any output. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crayonie is not liable for any loss, harm, or inaccuracy arising from the use of AI-generated content that was not reviewed by a qualified teacher before use.

5. Your content and ownership

As between you and Crayonie, you own the packs and other materials you generate using the Service, and you may use, adapt, print, and share them for teaching purposes without restriction.

Crayonie and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service itself, including its software, design, branding, and underlying technology. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you. You grant Crayonie a licence to store and process the information you submit (such as topics, grade levels, and class rosters) solely to provide and improve the Service.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • attempt to circumvent usage limits, access another user's account or data, or interfere with the security or operation of the Service;
  • resell, redistribute, or repackage generated content as a competing product or service without our written permission;
  • upload or submit unlawful, infringing, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate material as input to the Service; or
  • reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying models or source code of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

7. Plans and payment

Crayonie is offered on the following plans:

  • Free — $0. Up to 5 packs and 3 slide exports per month.
  • Pro — $12.99 per month, or $119 per year. Up to 25 packs per month and unlimited slide exports.
  • Enterprise — custom pricing billed per school, for schools and departments with multiple teachers.

Paid plans are not yet available for purchase; this section describes how billing will work once they go live. When enabled, payments for paid plans will be processed by Paddle.com, acting as our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment collection, invoicing, and applicable sales tax or VAT, which is calculated and added at checkout. Subscription fees are billed in advance for the selected billing period (monthly or annual) and, unless cancelled, will renew automatically at the then-current price.

8. Cancellation

When paid plans are enabled, you will be able to cancel a paid plan at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not end your current billing period early. You will keep access to the features of your paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. For information on refunds, see our Refund Policy.

9. Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may modify, restrict, or discontinue features, plan limits, or the Service as a whole, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes in advance where practical.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Crayonie's total liability to you arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amounts you paid to Crayonie in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Crayonie is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by reasonable means, such as an in-app notice or an email to the address on your account, before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Portugal have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where mandatory consumer-protection law entitles you to bring a claim in another jurisdiction.
